Born on July 30, 1883 in Kouzkounjum (Constantinople)
Died in April 03, 1961 Kairo

At a very young age, his teacher calls him Alban which is the Armenian variant of the Turkish word “arnaoud”
1895 Escaping the massacre by the Hamidian (Osmanian) Turks, with his parents settle in Alexandria and graduates from the Barbarian school His father, a teacher, had taught him at first and then attended a local Swiss school and later the Freres School where unable to commit to the strict rules and regulations he was transferred to an Italian School. He mastered a few foreign languages while in school Very young, he loved music and learned to play the violin.In Alexandria, he helped his friend, Pelyan, who was a photographer and consequently mastered the art. In the future he became one of the many famous photographers in Egypt.
1904 He was trusted to be the portrait photographer of the employees of a company called ”Ramley Altram”
1906 He worked with photogra on Rashid Street. During the First World War when he left for Belgium, he handed the studio to his coworker, Apkar.
1918 He became a master in his profession and opnend a photo studio in Brussels. His professionalism was reknowned in the Belgian Royal Family.
1919 He became the photographer of the Royal Family of Belgium. With the advice of the Queen Elizabeth of Belgium, he opened a branch in Paris.
1925 He settled in Paris in a photo studio on Bando Street., worked with the famous George Sati. They had created advertisements for “Vort”, ”Touman” “don Lap” “Cristoff”. He worked with “Votre” Bordre”, “Paris Magazine” periodicals. His various works had been published in periodicals such as “Photographia” and “Paris”
1930 with photographer Hrant Masisyan, he opened up a photo studio on Fopuor Saint Honoree Street. He participated in the 25th International photography exhibition in Paris.
1932 His photos were exhibited in the Brussels International Photo Exhibitions.
1940 When Nazi Germany occupied Belgium, he returned to Egypt after financial losses and settles in Cairo. On the 13th floor of a building called “Assurance Italian” in the city center he opens his first photo art studio and then settles on Kasr el Nil street.
1944 He asks photographer Shake to work with him. Their works have been exhibited in New York Metropolitan Museum and in the National Museum of Canada
1961 After his death, Shake takes over the studio and uses “Shake-Alban” signature on the photos until the early 1970’s.
1990 Alban’s works had been publishes in the “50 years in Mass Media Photography “photo album.
